40 Days to 40

This is it.  I’m hitting the big time soon.  The big 4-0.  Yep.  I’ve been thinking about this since I turned 39.  Waiting for some major revelation or mass amount of wisdom to come over me.

I haven’t found it yet.  The revelation.  Or the mass amount of wisdom.  What I have found is a reason to throw a fabulous party and the pressure to set some major goal for myself.  And by the way, the major goal is NOT to throw the fabulous party…cuz that would just be too easy.

I like to write.  I like to make people laugh.  I like to make people think.  I’m an over sharer by nature and I love social media.  So why not use the ‘I’m turning 40, so I better make something of myself’ excuse to finally write.  On a regular basis.  Like I mean it.

So here goes it.  My goal.  To write 40 posts, in 40 days, all the way until I turn 40.  God help me if I didn’t count backwards correctly and have the days wrong.  But then again, that would just be good fodder for a future post, right?

What am I going to write about?  Whatever moves me.  Likely there will be some posts about my son.  He’s pretty much the best thing ever.  Duh.  Or perhaps this fabulous party I’m planning (There will be a candy buffet. Don’t you wish you were invited?).  And then likely there will be some kind of post about how irritating it is to have your inner thighs rub together because I no longer have a thigh master to keep them in shape (some of you may be old enough to remember the Suzanne Somers endorsement of this delightful product).  Who knows.  Let’s just hope some of the posts move you…or make you laugh.  I just hope none of them make you fall asleep on your keyboard.  Cuz that would just suck for you when you wake up with DFGHJK imprinted on your cheek.

Hang with me on the journey.  Maybe I’ll even have the chance to inspire you.  Nah.  I’ll probably just make you glad you aren’t a writer.  Or turning 40.
