I do not religiously make lists. I probably should, but for some reason, I seem to instead let the items on a so called list, float randomly in my head. This isn’t very useful because inevitably I forget something…or many things.
So with 40 around the corner, I decided to do one of those lists that older people do – the bucket list. In no particular order, I’ve made a list of 40 things I’d like to do, see, go, be, challenge myself on, etc. … you know the drill.
- Go to Tahiti
- Go to Fiji
- Go to Australia
- Paddle board in Maui
- Learn to surf (see a theme here?)
- Publish a book
- Become a professional speaker
- Learn to ride a motorcycle
- Go to an Olympics
- Take Noah to Atlantis in the Bahamas
- Take a sabbatical
- See the United States during a summer RV trip
- Write 40 letters of gratitude to 40 people after I turn 40
- Live in Hawaii
- Go on an Alaskan cruise
- Open a chic candy store
- Select and watch 40 Oscar winning movies
- Take a painting class
- Go to a Super Bowl
- Take a European vacation
- Tour a castle
- Take Noah to Legoland
- Rent a beach house in the outer banks of N.C. for a month
- Drive a convertible down the Pacific Coast Highway Northern California to Southern California
- Read 10 classic english literature books
- Get a Master’s degree
- Take ballroom dancing lessons
- Spend a Christmas in Aspen
- Learn how to ski on a real mountain
- Visit every National Park
- Learn how to shoot a bow an arrow…and get a bullseye
- Spend a Christmas in NYC
- Spend a Christmas in a tropical location
- Have a room in my house with a dance floor, great audio and a disco ball
- Learn to kick box
- Visit the seven wonders of the world
- Live in a home along the water
- Run a 5K
- Write a book with Noah
- Author a book on the NY Times Best Seller list
So there ya go. My bucket list of 40 things. Perhaps I’ll add to it as I think of new things. In the mean time, now that I’ve made the list – I guess I need to start making these happen, right?
