You guys. Storyline. Such goodness was shared. So let’s get right to it…
Life Lessons – Part Two:
- Pain is universal in a fallen world. It is not special to us. What we DO with it is special.
- We cannot overlook our own pain in life. Instead we should ask, what blessings can pain produce? How can it help the world?
- In most cases, there is pain – a lot of it – in the back story of the most influential people in the world.
- We all have some victim in us, but the key is to not stay there. Staying in the role of the victim ends our story.
- Victimhood gives us an excuse not to try.
- The best thing you can do with your pain, once you’ve got some distance from it, is to redeem it. Don’t let it keep you down.
- Reflect on your pain. Resolve it. Redeem it. This is the beginning to rewriting your story.
- Just like stories in books or movies, our own life story has characters – such as a hero and a villain. Which would you rather be, in your own life story? The hero who redeems their pain or the villain who seeks vengeance for it?
- A hero always has a history of pain and self doubt.
- There’s never been a hero in a story that self identifies as a victim, even if they were one.
Redefining your pain and your place within it. It can be simply transformational. I don’t want to be stuck in victimhood. I don’t want to be a villain.
So now what, right?
I’m going to take some time writing down and reflecting on the pain points in my life. As I review each one, I’m going to ask myself what came of it? What did I learn? What blessings were bestowed because of it? How can it help others? How can it help change the world?
Because remember #4? I don’t want my story to end, I feel like it’s just beginning.
